The show season soon comes round fast and the Williams Simmental team was out in force at Newark and Notts Show at the start of the month under judge Bridget Borlase of the Sacombe herd, where our relatively young team did us proud against some strong competition.

First for us was the yearling bull class where we stood second with Williams Elliot, a February 2013-born son of senior herd sire Heathbrow Tristar. This one is out of the Forcovert Majestic daughter Horsfordmanor Vikki.

Our yearling heifer team consisted of three heifers, which were all placed in the class taking a second, third and fifth. Taking the blue rosette was Williams Malvenas 4th, a February 2013-born Tristar daughter who was much admired by many who saw her at the show. Malvenas is out of the Blackford Lancer daughter Tillymaud Malvenas 58th. Then standing third was Williams Wednesday Emily, another February-born Tristar daughter this time out of the Sterling Alex daughter Sterling Naomi’s Wednesday who was purchased as a foundation female for the herd. Fifth place then went to Williams Simone’s Eleanor, an April-born Tristar daughter out of the Atlow Number One sired Horsfordmanor Simone.

In the two year old heifer class, we were second with Williams Wendy’s Dromeda, an April 2012-born Tristar daughter out of the Sterling Rochester daughter Sterling Petra’s Wendy. Meanwhile, standing fifth place in this class was the only non Tristar daughter, Williams toffee’s Delores, a March 2012-born Darsham Playboy daughter out of Astocte Toffee.
