This year’s Royal Norfolk Show was definitely the highlight of our showing career to date as Tristar was on cracking form to win his class, take the male and breed championship under judge Iain Green of the Corskie herd and then later the Continental interbreed championship and overall interbreed championship.
He then paired up with Paul Gunther’s cow Horsfordmanor Wanda to take the interbreed pairs championship and then later the reserve interbreed group of three honours, again with Wanda and a heifer from the Heathbrow herd of David and Lesley Sapsed.
Also at the show, we stood third with Williams Snow Queen, who is by Hockenhull Red Rum, while Sterling Petra’s Wendy, a January 2008-born junior cow by Sterling Rochester who stood second in her class, while our senior cow Sterling Ritzys Vesta won the senior cow class. In the yearling bull class we stood fifth with Williams Barnabas.
Again the Blue Texels were out in force and we took a second prize with a homebred ram lamb, Williams Ulrick, while Williams Ultima, our ewe lamb stood third, again in very strong classes.
