It was the Blue Texel sheep show team that dominated the headlines for us at this year’s East of England Show as we were delighted to take win the shearling ewe class and then go on to be female and overall breed champion. The ewe, which was shown for us by Harry Middleditch, was purchased at David Alexander’s production sale last year and is by a Craigalbert tup out of a Millside ewe.

In the Simmental classes, which for this year was the host for the English National Simmental Show, our young team of Heathrbow Tristar progeny performed well with Williams Simone’s Crystal standing third and Williams Verona’s Cherry standing fourth in the January-born yearling heifer class, while Williams Vesta’s Belby stood second in the August-December-born two year old heifer class. In a tough January-born two year old heifer class we stood fifth with Williams Regal Lady 4th. Next stop for us will be the Kent County Show with both the Simmentals and the Blue Texels.
