It was a first for the Williams team to make the journey down to the Royal Welsh Show and it was won that certainly proved successful for us. Under judge David Mills, we won the baby heifer class with Williams Toffee’s Dolores before going one better to take the reserve female championship. Dolores is by Darsham Playboy and is out of Astcote Toffee, a foundation female for the herd.

Carrying on with females we then took a second with Williams Simone’s Crystal, a March 2011-born Heathbrow Tristar daughter out of Horsfordmanor Simone, another foundation female and she also joined the Sacombe and Sterling herds to win the interbreed team of five group competition.
Meanwhile, our other Darsham Playboy daughter, Williams Danielle 2nd stood fourth in her class, while Williams Windy’s Dromeda, another Tristar daughter, stood sixth in the same class.
In the January-born bull class we also stood second with Williams Draco, a Darsham Playboy son out of Tillymaud Malvenas 58th. Draco, alongside our two Playboy daughters teamed up with Sterling to win the sire group for the breed as well.

We also took the Blue Texel show team to Builth and competed in incredibly strong classes. Our shearling tup, a Duns-sired tup out of a Bishop’s ewe stood fourth in a tough class. He will now be for sale in Worcester in September
